Imo if people haven't learned after having even one kid how hard it is to get it right they should most definitely not have more. Kids are a lifetime commitment, and if your kid has kids, then you also have the responsibility to show up for your grandkid(s). Even if you do it "prayerfully" as one commenter suggests, you are dealing with a whole human being with all that implies. Hell, most people can't even handle a dog responsibly.
